Mermaid Birthday “Party”

“I’m not decorating this year.”

..also known as the lie I tell myself every time my kids’ birthdays roll around. What can I say? I love to decorate and I love to see their faces light up when they wake up to my crazy antics. I will say though, I have learned to simplify (you can’t see my facial expression as I struggle to get that last word out).

This year my three April babies decided they wanted to go on a family vacation instead of having a big party. You’d think I would take the opportunity to relax, but then what would I blog about? So true to myself, I decorated for my daughter’s 10th birthday breakfast. A mermaid theme under $20 when I used a few items already on hand. Check out the links provided for products purchased!

With her birthday landing on a school day, pictures had to be taken in less than ideal lighting lol. So the second picture, sans food, was after the celebration.

Balloons & Tablecloth/Backdrop from Target

I also bought this mermaid shirt for my little girl to wear on her special day

For less than $20 I was able to add a special touch to my daughters morning. It took a few minutes to order everything online and I used Target’s new drive up feature to pick it up! Frugal and convenient.. I get points for that right?!
